Fight the Power and the Government “No-Fly” List

Friday Night Tatto Parlor Tales
Friday night I was hanging with my friends at the Blue Devil Tattoo Parlor when I heard a story that truly frightened me as an American. On a recent plane trip, these guys were harassed, detained, and one Dustin Chambers was thrown in to prison for a week. Why you may ask? Because they were suspected terrorist.

Freaky Tattooed Terrorists and Milkshake Bombs
These guys work in the tattoo industry, and as such have a lot of tattoos. Dustin has tattoos on his face, and thus faced the worst of the harassment. Dustin had a wrapped present for his baby daughter that he was planning on visiting. At the check in, Dustin was told the present was a suspected bomb, and they needed to run it through a special “bomb detector”. After a long delay while the bomb squad tested his baby girl’s gift, they let him go. Angry and frustrated about his treatment, he made a fatal remark “What did they think I had a milkshake bomb in there?”. Right after making that statement, two airport marshal’s grabbed him and questioned him about using the word “bomb” in an airport. His response was that he said “bomb” because they had just put his gift through a “bomb detector”.

Welcome to Oz Nigga Surprise!
He was then detained, questioned and brutally interrogated. Since his name Dustin Chambers had been put on a “No Fly List” they continued to harass and detain him. They insisted he was someone else who had been using the name “Dustin Chambers” as an alias. Though he has no criminal record, and was NOT the person they suspected him to be, they continued to detain and harass him, finally putting him into a federal prison for holding. He stayed in federal prison for one week, despite having done anything wrong. Finally he was set free with an ankle bracelet to await a court date. Obviously, because of this ordeal, he never did get to see his baby daughter.

YOU May be a Terrorist Too!
I think this is totally fucked up. How someone could be tormented, detained and sent to prison for no reason is beyond me. I understand safety precautions we must take after Sept 11, 2001, but this kind of harassment is obscene. Anyone suspect due to their skin color, looks, commonality of names, etc, can be subject to this kind of abuse.

The American Civil Liberties Union
The ACLU has been fighting this kind of discrimination for years. They are currently fighting the Government No-Fly listand the harassment it causes to Americans.

From the website. “ACLU Challenges Government No-Fly List
The ACLU has filed a nationwide class-action challenge to the government's "No-Fly" list. Many innocent travelers who pose no safety risk whatsoever are discovering that their government considers them terrorists -- and find that they have no way to find out why they are on the list, and no way to clear their names”

Is this the 1984 George Orwellian future we want for our Country?

Here is the ACLU complaint form for anyone else who has suffered this kind of harassment.

Nekkid Boobie and Takin One for Our Troops
On another note, I posted a photo of my tattoo on my photoblog. Warning...the photo contains nudity. Lol. My friend Vito (who recently started a blog) took some racy photos for my soldier friend currently serving in Iraq.

Here is a picture of my soldier friend TC. Notice his sexy lover boy lips, and bedroom eyes. He is currently serving in Iraq with the Stryker Brigade. This is an infantry group. If anyone wants to write him a letter and send him some support, it would be so much appreciated. He says he likes to get letters to “keep his mind off the bad stuff”. Send me an email if you would like to support our troops and write TC a letter.

May the Force Be With You All!

1989 the number another summer (get down)
Sound of the funky drummer
Music hittin' your heart cause I know you got sould
(Brothers and sisters hey)
Listen if you're missin' y'all
Swingin' while I'm singin'
Givin' whatcha gettin'
Knowin' what I know
While the Black bands sweatin'
And the rhythm rhymes rollin'
Got to give us what we want
Gotta give us what we need
Our freedom of speech is freedom or death
We got to fight the powers that be
Lemme hear you say
Fight the power

As the rhythm designed to bounce
What counts is that the rhymes
Designed to fill your mind
Now that you've realized the prides arrived
We got to pump the stuff to make us tough
from the heart
It's a start, a work of art
To revolutionize make a change nothin's strange
People, people we are the same
No we're not the same
Cause we don't know the game
What we need is awareness, we can't get careless
You say what is this?
My beloved lets get down to business
Mental self defensive fitness
(Yo) bum rush the show
You gotta go for what you know
Make everybody see, in order to fight the powers that be
Lemme hear you say...
Fight the Power
